Inspiration, in many ways June 13 2014

Hi everyone. This Blog post was hard for me to write. It is my first post, so I am trying to figure out exactly what I want this blog to be like. I was, for all intensive purposes, lacking inspiration. And I kept thinking, all week, about a recent event in my life.

My high school choir teacher passed away last week at the age of 34. It was sudden and completely unexpected. I have spent the last week remembering the time I had with him, how much of an impact he had on me, and the inspiration he gave me to want to do more in my life. He was a truly gifted and loved man, and he inspired everyone he met. My heart is deeply saddened by his loss, but I know he will live on forever in those that he mentored, taught, and befriended. I feel lucky to have known him.

So, I realize you are probably wondering how this has anything to do with this blog. Fear not, I'm painting a bigger picture here.

In the moments lacking inspiration, sometimes I happen upon a picture, video, story, or verse that lights a fire in me. Sometimes I am looking for it, sometimes it finds me. and this week, I found inspiration in the most unlikely of places.

I was uploading some new products to the website, and this was one of them:

The quote stuck with me. I wished I could put it on my wall and was kind of sad that it was a journal. and not wall art. But then I realized...

can put it on my wall. Because I am an adult. and I can do whatever I want with things that I buy. (also, I eat dessert for dinner sometimes)

I am buying this journal. Not only am I an avid list maker, but I also have an obsession with office and school supplies, and fall semester is just around the corner. So this is just perfect for me.

If you are like me and like to keep things like this just because they are nifty, long after all the pages have been used, you can try something new with me. When you are done with it, just use an exacto knife or razor (make sure you are an adult or at least have the common sense to not hurt yourself with these sharp objects) and take the cover off. I personally plan to frame mine, but you can use anything from double sided tape, to command strips, to actually nailing it to your wall to put it up. If you get 3 of the ones available on this site, you can repurpose all of the inspirational covers for art in your home. The minimalistic designs will bring a pop of color to a living room, bedroom, or office wall, and also give you that little pick me up you may need when you ae stuck in a rut.

I look forward to doing this. I will take pictures and post when I do.

Happy decorating, lovelies!!
